Not all Kratom is equal.

Kratom is made from the leaves of a tree in the coffee family. While the plant is native to Southeast Asia, you can find kratom in stores like kratom bars, herbalists, apothecaries like Elixily, kava bars and smoke shops worldwide.

Not all Kratom is created equal, though. Each strain has a different combination of alkaloids that make up its leaves and determine its effects on the body–and each person’s experience with each strain will vary based on their own body chemistry. Some strains will leave you feeling relaxed and chilled out; some will give you energy; others still may help relieve pain or reduce anxiety. When considering which strain might be best for you, consider this: not all strains of Kratom are created equal!

If you want good quality, you have to pay a good price.

Kratom is a natural herb that has been used for thousands of years in Southeast Asia. It’s not a drug, it’s not addictive, and it’s not a synthetic drug. In fact, kratom does not contain any addictive substances whatsoever.

Kratom is also not a prescription medication or controlled substance of any kind—it is completely legal to buy and use in most of the United States. However since it comes from Southeast Asia there are many farms that will undercut market prices by paying workers a meager unfair wage, or by using subpar sanitation practices to reduce prices to consumers. So typically higher priced kratom is more responsibly sourced, is lab tested, and packaged under sanitary conditions by well paid workers, and farmers. We here at Elixily believe that everyone from the person that grows the plant to the person who packages it is valuable and deserves to be compensated well, and treated with integrity. So we may not have the lowest price in the market, but we stand by our product which is lab tested for both potency and consistency, and we are dedicated to supporting the community, and the people who make our products possible!

What The Names of Different Kratoms Mean

As There are many different types of kratom it can be hard to know which to get or even what their names mean. Usually the name of a particular strain of kratom denotes either where it is from, or in the case of Maeng Da Kratom the potency of the strain. The literal translation of Maeng Da is “pimp grade” or in other words a premium quality kratom. However, in a different instance such as Bali Gold Kratom the name “Bali” denotes the region that that particular strain comes from which is Bali, and then the color denotes what level of maturity that leaves of the plant were when harvested which affects which alkaloids are present. The leaves of the kratom tree mature similarly to other tree leaves. The young leaves are light colored and tender we call the young leaves white kratom white kratom has a more energizing effect. The mature leaves are green in color and still retain some of the energizing effect but also contain a higher level of pain relieving alkaloids we call this green kratom. The most mature leaves have a slight reddish color and contain much more of the pain relieving alkaloids, and almost no energizing alkaloids we call these leaves red kratom. Gold kratom is the stage between green mature leaves and older red leaves where the leaf of the kratom plant turns a slightly yellow or gold color. For example if you see Green Vein Maeng Da Kratom on our shop page the green represents the maturity of the leaf when harvested and thus which alkaloids it contains (slightly energizing with some pain relief) and the Maeng Da represents the quality instead of the region of the kratom strain. Another example on our website could be Gold Vein Bali. The gold represents the maturity of the leaf when harvested (between green and red so just before the leaf turns red so it would have lots of pain relief, and be ever so slightly relaxing) and then the Bali in the name represents which region the plant was harvested in but not the quality of the kratom.

Some vendors will offer several strains of kratom that are suited for different purposes, such as pain relief or energy boosting. Other vendors might only sell one type of kratom (such as Maeng Da), which may not be ideal if you’re looking to try out several different strains in order to find which one works best for you.

Capsules are more expensive than powder.

Capsules are more expensive than powder because they are a more complicated and time-consuming product to produce. Capsules (and other forms of manufactured kratom) are made by pureeing the leaves into a paste, which is then filled into gelatin capsules. Powder can be purchased in bulk at a lower cost because it’s simply dried leaves that have been ground up into smaller pieces. Capsules also require packaging materials, glue for the lids, etc., so these costs add up quickly.

Although powder is cheaper than capsules per unit weight or volume, it’s easier to measure out the desired dosage when you use pre-measured capsules rather than measuring out your own amount from a bag of powder! This makes them more convenient than purchasing loose leaf varieties; however, if you’re looking for something super portable or want to experiment with mixing different strains together for variety then powdered kratom might be right up your alley!

Take time to research vendors and where they get their supply from.

If you are looking for a good kratom vendor, then it is important that you do some research on the different vendors that sell this herb. There are quite a few vendors out there who sell different varieties of kratom and it can be hard to know which one is best for you. The best way to do this is by doing some research on each of them so that you can find out more about their business practices and where they get their supply from. This will help ensure that your money goes towards supporting legitimate companies who care about providing high quality products as opposed to scamming consumers into buying bad quality herbs at inflated prices. Here at Elixily we source our Kratom with the utmost discernment and integrity, and we have over a decade of experience in the industry in the kratom bar capital of the entire world as we are based in St. Petersburg Florida where there are over 90 different kratom bars. We also are dedicated to giving back to our community, and sharing the magic of this pain relieving plant with the world.

Make sure you understand what you are buying and use the vendor’s website to make an informed decision.

If you’re not sure what to buy, ask for more information. You can find out about the different kratom strains and their effects on the vendor’s website. They should also have a FAQ section where they will answer any questions that you may have. If you don’t understand something, don’t be afraid to ask them directly—they are there to help!

If you ever feel like your product isn’t working as well as it should or if there is an issue with delivery, contact the vendor immediately so they can assist with whatever problems arise. Also make sure that the vendor is reputable by checking out reviews from other customers who bought from them before making a purchase yourself!

Find a trust-worthy vendor.

  • Check the vendor’s website.
  • Search for reviews of the vendor on Google and other sites. Look for recent, detailed reviews from people who actually used their products.
  • Look at their return policy and shipping and handling fees, as well as other costs associated with purchasing from them (e.g., credit card processing fees). If they don’t specify what they charge or have no contact number listed, skip them and look elsewhere!
  • Ask around to see if anyone has had a good experience with the vendor before – it could save you some time wasted on bad businesses!

Learn about the kratom leaves, the alkaloids in them, and what effects they have on the body.

Before you start shopping for kratom, it’s important to learn about the alkaloids in each strain. The main two alkaloids found in kratom leaves are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These chemicals interact with opioid receptors to produce analgesic (pain relief) effects and mood-boosting ones as well, but they work differently from opioids like morphine or heroin.

Mitragynine is a partial agonist of the mu opioid receptor—it can bind to it but doesn’t activate it fully like other more potent opioids do. Mitragynine tends to be responsible for most of the unique effects of kratom strains; these include:

  • Euphoria
  • Anxiety reduction
  • Pain relief
  • Green and white strains of kratom are more energizing
  • Red and yellow/gold strains are more relaxing

Understand which alkaloid is most important for your needs.

Understanding which alkaloid is most important for your needs is the first step in choosing a kratom product. The two main active alkaloids are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, and they both play key roles in pain relief and anxiety relief, but their effects vary depending on the type of kratom you choose.

Mitragynine is the more common of these two substances. While it can provide some pain relief and anxiety reduction, it does not have as strong an effect as 7-hydroxymitragyinne (known as 7-HMG). This makes sense when you consider that mitragynine is what binds to your opioid receptors—responsible for pain relief—while 7HMG doesn’t bind at all!

Mitragynine for Pain Relief (and Anxiety, Stress)

Mitragynine is the main alkaloid in Kratom. It’s also the most abundant alkaloid in Mitragyna speciosa. That means it’s a main ingredient to look for when choosing which kratom to buy, and if it doesn’t have this alkaloid present, you probably don’t want that particular strain.

Mitragynine is an opioid agonist—meaning it binds to your opioid receptors and acts like morphine or other opiates do. But here’s what makes it unique: instead of acting as a full agonist (like morphine), mitragynine has partial agonist effects which produce less negative side effects than full-on opiates do! Here at Elixily all of our kratom strains are lab tested for both potency and consistency, and we are proud to share those lab results with everyone who visits our site!

7-Hydroxymitragynine for Pain Relief (and Anxiety, Stress)

7-Hydroxymitragynine is a unique alkaloid in kratom that has both pain-relieving and anxiety-relieving properties, making it a more diverse substance than many others on the market. Although it’s not as strong as mitragynine, 7-hydroxymitragynine can provide you with a gentle lift without feeling like you’re getting high. And if you’re looking for something stronger, there are also strains with higher concentrations of this alkaloid available such as our Bali Gold Vein.

Mitragynine vs 7-Hydroxymitragynine (Pain Relief and Anxiety)

Mitragynine and 7-Hydroxymitragynine are the main alkaloids in kratom, but Mitragynine is present in higher concentrations than 7-Hydroxymitragynine. The ratio between these two alkaloids can vary depending on how much of each alkaloid a strain contains, for example some strains may be 70% Mitragynine and 30% 7-Hydroxymitragynine while others might be 50/50 or even more skewed towards one or the other.

Choosing between strains that have similar alkaloid concentrations.

It’s also important to understand that most strains have similar alkaloid concentrations, but there are some exceptions. For example, some strains have higher levels of 7-hydroxymitragynine and others have lower levels.

Let’s take a look at the many factors that go into selecting a particular strain of kratom that’s right for you:

  • If you need pain relief or anxiety relief look for gold, yellow, or red vein
  • If you need energy look for white, green, yellow, or gold
  • If you want a little bit of energy as well as a moderate amount of pain relief try green, yellow, or gold.

Conclusion

There are many different types of Kratom available on the market today, and finding the right one for you can be a challenge. We here at Elixily hope this article has helped you understand what to look for when making the choice to purchase kratom online.
